Acer Experienced 62% Increase in Q1 Net Profit

Acer continued its momentum in computer market as the Taiwan based company saw 62% increase in its net profit in the first quarter of the year. Last year, the computer maker outperformed Dell to become the second largest computer maker in the world. Now, in the first quarter, it has strengthened its hold further thanks to excellent sales throughout the world.

In the first quarter, Acer recorded NT$3.29 billion profit, a huge increase from the year around figure of NT$2.03 billion. Moreover, Acer’s earning per share has been also increased to NT$1.25, compared to last year’s figure of NT$0.78.

Acer has also surpassed HP as the world’s leading notebook computer maker in the first quarter of the year. Its overall market share has been increased too. Now, it would be interesting to see if HP and Dell can take effective steps to regain their lost place.
