AMD to Unveil Power Efficient New Processor Very Soon

In its bid to gain more market share in the consumer market, AMD is now all set to launch a new set of processors which will not be power hungry and provide better battery back up for the laptops. In fact, AMD would install the new processors in 109 different laptop models this year. So, it is clear that AMD’s performance this year would be far better than the last year when it could install its processors only in 40 laptop models.

Well, that does not mean that AMD has come close to its rival Intel which has a whopping 87.8% share in the chipset market in the first quarter of the year. AMD, on the other hand, holds only 12.1% of the market share. Still, one can say that AMD is trying its best to push more into the processor market. However, while AMD is trying to make more space in the consumer CPU market, it is losing its hold in the served-based processor market where Intel is dominating with full swing.

AMD may see better performance this year, but one thing is true that the American company needs to do more to get to reach even close to Intel which is in terms of market share is the best chipset maker in the world now. To minimize the gap, AMD’s R&D department should come up with cutting-edge technology for the users.
